Founding Lawyer
  • Profile

Malerie is the owner of Rose Family Law and its senior counsel. Throughout her career, Malerie has practiced exclusively in the area of family law. She provides clients with advice and advocacy in relation to such matters as separation agreements, marriage contracts, divorce, parenting, property division, child support, spousal support, and cohabitation agreements.

Malerie opened her own family law office in Mississauga in 2015, after years working in downtown Toronto at a high-profile family law boutique firm. Malerie has significant experience dealing with high conflict matters. She is compassionate and understands that family law issues require a special type of advocacy and representation due to their intensely personal nature. Malerie encourages and works with her clients toward settlement, but when settlement is not an option, she leads her clients through the court process with assurance and competence and is a fierce advocate.

Malerie regularly appears at the Superior and Ontario Courts of Justice and has advocated at the Ontario Court of Appeal. Malerie has been a speaker at the Ontario Bar Association continuing legal education programs and has authored various papers that have been presented at such programs. Malerie has also appeared on the “Together with Gila Yefet” TV Show as a regular guest to discuss family law issues. Malerie is often called upon to mentor junior counsel.

Malerie attended the prestigious New York University BFA program and obtained her LL.B from the University of Ottawa. She was called to the Ontario Bar in 2006. She is currently in training to become a certified family law mediator.

Malerie presents approximately four “Family Law 101” Seminars each year at the Halton Women’s Centre.
